Ilsa ( Rebecca Ferguson ) returned to join Ethan on his mission and the chemistry between her and Ethan ( Tom Cruise ) in their scenes together in Venice Italy are just magic. The return of Eugne Kittridge ( Henry Czerny ) as the cia director is very well played by him and his character is smart, shifty and still giving Ethan Hunt a difficult time telling him that he has to pick a a side. AI is the main villain in it and the team does not want anyone to control it cause it's to much power for any government to have. The most interesting new character is Gabriel ( Esai Morales ) a mysterious ghost from Ethan's past who want's to a weaponize the AI. There is a departure of a main character that will make you cry an is very emotional. The character of Grace ( Haley Atwell ) is a funny an sneaky pickpocket who gets most of the screen time and it looks like she may have a really big part in the next one. Mariela Garriga's character of Maria is somebody you want to know more about her an Ethan's past together. Briggs ( Shea Whigham ) an Degas ( Greg Tarzen Davis ) are agent sent to capture Ethan Hunt and are really good additions. Denlinger ( Cary Elwes ) is a really untrustworthy government leader a who's motive is not for the greater good. The character of Paris ( Pom Klementieff ) is independent strong and can take everybody down. The white widow ( Vanessa Kirby ) returns as the broker with her charming attitude.
