Bryan Fenkart is a man of many talents. He is currently
touring in the role of Huey Calhoun, in Memphis the musical.
He has also just released his new CD, Simple & Grey.
I spoke with Bryan about his newest release, that he is
excited to share with fans. Simple & Grey is a perfect
blend of blues and pop. Bryan said a lot of the blues
influence came because he's been in "Memphis" the last
few years . He is also an accomplished musician
and plays piano, guitar and harmonica. Music has always
inspired him and he credits the music that he and his father
listened to while he was growing up. He said, " My father
played guitar and we listened to great artists like Paul
Simon, Billy Joel, James Taylor and Springsteen."
Some new artists that he listens to today are John Mayer,
Sara Barailles and The Fray. Bryan does have his own
unique way of writing. Bryan finds it works better if your
not looking for it, just let it find you. He said, " I'm always
looking for the why and not the what. I want people to say,
yeah, I felt that". Listening to Simple & Grey you do relate
to his message. We were talking about his favorite song off
of the CD and Bryan said, "New World is uncommonly
hopeful for me, waiting for the new version of yourself
to arrive". The CD has so many thought provoking songs
that it's perfect for everyone and it will be a welcome
addition to your collection.
