WITH
KERLI
When the world is your inspiration it's easy to make
music.  Estonian born Kerli has overcome many
obstacles in her life. She takes her life experiences
and transforms them into songs that affect everyone.
Kerli said, "When I write a song, I write what I feel."
She also listens to others and can interpet their
feelings into songs that everyone can relate to.
She grew up in a very strict environment but took
music lessons since she was eight years old.  She
felt even as a child that she had so much more to
say through music. She really wasn't allowed to listen
to popular music but she knew that the music was
always inside of her.  She couldn't keep all that talent
bottled up for long. When she was 14 she entered a
music contest in her country even through she didn' t
quite meet the age requirement.  That little obstacle
was not enough to make Kerli give up on the dream
she was meant to have.
KERLI'S DEBUT CD
"LOVE IS DEAD"
UNDER THE ISLAND LABEL
In 2002 she saw an ad for a talent contest, the
equivalent of American Idol. She filled out the
entry and began a journey to the music career
she only dared to dream about.  Since she was
so young she was nervous about singing with
people older and more experienced than she
was but it was sheer determination and will that
brought her the win.  She performed in Europe
for a few years and then caught the attention of
Island Records.  She moved to California when
she was 19 years old and now at 21 she is
releasing her debut CD, "Love Is Dead".  The
first single is the song, "Walking On Air".
Kerli said, "I hope that people can find hope
and courage in the songs that I have written.
I do all of it for them."  Her CD has so many
different types of style and each one of them
are to move the listener in a  different way.
She said music is a universal language and it
transcends all borders. Everyone can find a
song that will affect them personally, love is
not dead it lives on in Kerli's music.
